The sponsors and panelists may have been Christian leftists, but the questions they raised apply to all of us on the Left. On December 4, Rev. Andrew Wilkes, Rev. Angela Cowser, and Dr. Joerg Rieger held a panel discussion on solidarity, ecological devastation, and building a Christian Left that engages all of us who are captives to capitalism. Dr. Rieger's new book, Theology in the Capitalocene: Ecology, Identity, Class, and Solidarity, was the jumping-off point for this event co-hosted by the Wendland-Cook Program in Religion and Justice and the Institute for Christian Socialism.
